Advances in Window Cleaning: Using the right tool for the job

"But I can just do that myself." We hear that all the time. And, sure, you can certainly ladder up and clean your windows and screens.

But do you want to risk your safety and lose an entire weekend only to come away with streaked windows and half-cleaned screens when a trained professional can breeze through the process—without disturbing your landscaping or scratching your windows?

We think not.

Window cleaning seems straightforward. In reality, it's a finicky process that can be quite dangerous. If you're still not convinced, consider the following.

Efficiency

Hard water is not your friend. This may come as a surprise, but glass is porous, so it laps up minerals, which set into the structure of the glass.

While window-safe, commercially-available products are widely available, they're generally underwhelming for deep cleaning jobs. Why? Because they don't penetrate porous windows. You could spend all day, or even all week, and not get the results you are looking for.

Men In Kilts knows how to choose the right tool for the job. We are equipped with special compounds and tools to safely polish away hard water stains that regular cleaners cannot handle.

Spot-Free Shine

While we still love our squeegees, one of our favorite advanced tools are our water-fed pole systems because of the versatility they provide. Water-fed pole systems combine purified water with a telescopic pole and brush. Purified water gets pushed through and up a telescoping pole and the brush agitates dirt off the glass surface. When completed, the pure water is left to dry spot-free. Water-fed poles go beyond the typical window cleaning, meaning they can be used on window frames and sills, restoring them to a pristine condition

Water-fed poles are especially effective in hot climates where a normal squeegee clean can dry too quickly leaving streaks of soapy residue. Even better, they can be used in areas where using a ladder can be difficult, or impossible.

Safety

According to the Center for Disease Control, more than 500,000 people are treated for ladder-related injuries each year.

Luckily, Men In Kilts is safety trained on ladders: how to safely put them up and take them down; how to adjust them so they are level; and how to navigate terrain while carrying them. However, with the water-fed pole systems, we don't solely need to rely on ladders in areas where they are unsafe or where landscaping could be compromised.

No injuries. No disturbed landscaping. It's a win-win-win situation for everyone.

Environmentally Friendly

We love clean windows. And we love our planet even more.

The good news is that we don't have to choose one over the other. That's because we use environmentally-safe products that are safe for windows, humans, and pets.

While there are many environmentally-safe detergents, soaps, and homemade cleaning recipes for window cleaning, DIYers are often left disappointed with the results.

We know windows, frames, and screens because we work with them daily. Trust us. We'll leave you with a clear view in half the time—without breaking the bank. Call us today at (888) 292-1176 and we will provide you with a free estimate to have your windows professionally cleaned by Men In Kilts.
